I had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent - sausage, mushroom pizza with black truffle sauce followed by tiramisu for dessert. The service was very quick and attentive and the restaurant had a nice decor. The only thing missing for the outside seating area was some light background music.

We were actually quite surprised about the quality of the food. We didn’t expect it to that good!! The Pizza has a very nice bred and the cabonara is really aldente also the sauce of the cabonara tastes very authentic. Bruschetta is also top. For us the highlight was the tiramisu. Not only was it very well presented. It‘s a very good blend of coffee and chocolate. The mascarpone has a great creaminess and just the right amount of sweetness. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY ORDER IT!!! We were very impressed! We will absolutely come back there again.

Visited in July 2024 Brazil. Rio de Janeiro It's a small restaurant, not far from where we were. It's an Italian place, with most of the tables outside. It's a pretty cute place. They have linen hanging from the ceiling, which is a fun design element. Food: We love Italian food and eat it pretty often. We ordered a pizza, an appetizer, and a main course. For our appetizer, we had the salmon tartare on polenta crackers. It was a good, balanced dish, but I wish the polenta was much thinner and crispier, like a cracker. Otherwise, all that polenta overpowers the fish flavor. The octopus with potato chips for our main course was delicious. One of the best octopuses we’ve had in Rio, and we’ve tried a lot. It had the perfect balance of spices and salt, a good grilled flavor, and a crispy crust. It was close to perfect. The pizza was unbalanced. We ordered it with homemade sausage, but there wasn’t enough of it on the pizza. It was mostly the flavor of bland mozzarella, which made the pizza feel heavy and greasy. It lacked any really distinct flavor that you could grab onto. Service: The service was friendly and good. The waiters had really nice uniforms. It took a little long to get our food, but overall everything was fine. Conclusion: It's a pretty good Italian restaurant in Ipanema. It has nice lighting, a beautiful interior, and generally tasty food. I’d recommend checking it out and having an Italian night.

Found this place just by walking around and I'm glad we went in. It seems pretty authentic from the food to the atmosphere. It was the perfect! Had a pretty big menu. If we stayed longer we would've eaten there more than once.

Authentic italian food in Rio!! Excellent taste and service, made us remember our last trip to Italy. Real parmesan cheese!! We had it in the parmesan eggplant and carbonara pasta. Will come back!! Highly recommend the desserts as well.

I had a steak with mushrooms, tomato sauce and pasta. It was very delicious, reasonable prices and pasta was al dente, all very well seasoned - simply excellent!

Gino is located on the south end of Copacabana beach and a few steps away from the hotel I stayed at the Orla. It has a well lit cave like decor, and outdoor seating which was perfect after a flight from Montevideo to Rio. My server was super friendly and we exchanged laughs. I ordered a cocktail, meatballs, and pizza. Everything was up to par and I got stuffed. If you are in the mood for Italian food this is the place to go in Copacabana.
